“We stayed here for a week on a family holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Margaret and Raymond are brilliant hosts. We had the smallest of the self catering apartments which was perfect for myself, my wife and our 14-year-old daughter. It had a massive one bedroom with double and single bed, big bathroom, a lounge/kitchen with great views and plenty storage space. Loads of parking and the front door looks right down on to Scapa Flow. Everything was pristine and our hosts could not do enough for us. Great location for getting around the island. No hesitation in staying here again.”

“Due to a travel mix-up, we ended up spending a night at Foinhaven Bed & Breakfast in Orphir. Our hosts, Margaret and Raymond, were kind enough to allow us to stay with them when we had problems with our previous reservation on Orkney. The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfy. The rural setting was peaceful and bucolic. There were freshly baked cakes for tea awaiting us when we arrived. But the kicker was the breakfast. Farm-fresh eggs and home-baked bread put this breakfast over the top. The only negatives were the inconsistent wifi and the fact that it's a cash-only establishment. However, Margaret and Raymond are two of the sweetest persons on God's green earth and it was a privilege to spend an evening in their home.”

“Decided to use again this year having had many visits previously. Raymond and Margaret being Orcadian have tremendous local knowledge. With their own hens the breakfast cannot get any better ! Lots of parking space, with a pleasant quiet setting. Room was spotless with lots of cupboard space and a great shower.
Tremendous breakfast selection to set you up for the day. I have over many years used innumerable B&B's and none come remotely close to Foinhaven.”

“We stayed at Foinhaven for 5 nights, together with another couple of friends. We therefore had ample opportunity to taste the great variety of dishes on our hostess Margaret's breakfast menu, all excellent, made from locally sourced ingredients of prime quality. The rooms are generous in size and have good views. Our hosts Raymond and Margaret were absolutely charming and fun to talk to; moreover, they are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the islands, it was great to hear their stories and get their advice. Foinhaven is well located , especially for discovering the Western part of Mainland but also close to Kirkwall.”

“We stayed here in August. It is a big house in the orcadian country. The owners, Margaret and Raymond, are beautiful people ready to make you feel comfortable, as if you are at home with your family. We had something like an apartment that was all for us. Rooms were clean and cozy and every day Margaret left homemade biscuits and cakes for us.
Scottish Breakfast was AWESOME! So plentiful we did not eat lunch for as long as we stay there. And it was not only for food, because Raymond stayed and spoke with us all the time. Surroundings are quiet but you can reach every attraction in about 30 minutes by car.
